Don’t Marry for Love…

In Love, marriage, Relationships on 02/23/2010 at 6:03 am

Love, Marriage or both?

In her recent article “Love, yes, but be Committed to Marriage”, Leah Ward Sears contends that there is more to marriage than love.  As a 20+ year veteran as a judge in the “Peach State” , Mrs. Sears saw the devastation of divorce first hand.  From her professional and personal experience (she’s been married twice), Sears shares her insight on what marriage is and is not.  She sheds the idealistic view and shares her beliefs on what makes marriages successful.  Want to read more, click here.

The Denzel Principle (is Jimi right?)

In Dial My Heart, Love, Relationships on 02/20/2010 at 10:24 pm

DENZEL denzel DENZEL

So Ladies, what do you think?  Is Mr. Izrael right?  His argument is that single black women are single because they are looking for “Denzel” in every man they  meet.  I mean who among us hasn’t gone all silly over Denzel with that one-of-a-kind gait strolling across the big screen.  But it’s all in the name of entertainment.  None of us seriously believes that the man God has for us will only come in the form of Denzel 2.0?  Right?  I mean after all, there’s only one Denzel (no last name needed) Washington.  Personally – I enjoy thinking about Denzel simply as a form of bonding with my girls.  At the end of the day I know that my man will be uniquely himself and I will love every part of that even if he doesn’t walk like he means business (smile).  So if you haven’t had the chance to skim Jimi Izrael’s latest cause of controversy – check out Demetria Lucas‘ (she arranged the ‘cutie run’ for Pep on Let’s Talk about Pep) article on Essence.com.

Let’s Talk Love!

Have a seat

In 2010, we have more methods to communicate than ever before; text message, email, cell phone, IM, chat, Twitter, Facebook and more.

So how is it that we are talking less?  Why aren’t our relationships improving?  I believe that in this high-tech world we have become severely low-touch.  We have lost the art of face-to-face and voice-to-voice communication.

{Dial My Heart} is a forum for us to get back to the basics.  A space for real conversations, with real people, about real relationships.  Welcome to {Dial My Heart}.  Let’s talk love!
